fall 2015
fall 2015 was so good. being roommates with megan and lauren was one of the best decisions i ever made. this was my second to last semester too! i was in my third semester of french, was a t.a. or a greek and roman art history class, and had studio art classes and senior papers to write. it was crazy.. but i made it somehow..? probably thanks to taco bus, sodavine, megan, and lauren.
this is a fibula. it was worn in ancient greek and roman times. it's a pin to help fasten garments on. brother raish is the best teacher. and always had cool things like this to pass around class so while you're learning about it you can also hold one and see it in real life.
so after i interned in the gallery i got a job there. chels and i just framing all the things. that is a piece by brother griffin and we were matting and getting things ready for his show that he had there that semester.

i always have all these great ideas. and they take forever to do. because i'm a dreamer so i over dream them. and this dream was to make allllll the mini red velvet cupcakes. hahahaha. we made SO many. which normally wouldn't be a problem.. but we only had a pan of twelve to cook them in. so it literally took all day! good thing i had megs to put up with all my plans. she thinks i'm crazy, but goes along with it anyway. which i appreciate.

one day at work channing text me and said to check the security cameras around a certain time to see something entertaining. hahahaha. so i did, and this was what i found. i found her and all her plush animals that she was making for her BFA show just chilling on the bench right in front of the gallery. chelsea and i were watching the security cameras and laughing sooo hard.
ugh. i miss being in the printmaking lab soooo bad it hurts sometimes. the print lab was where all my art friends and i hung out and did homework or just chilled. it was so fun. also chelsea working back there is so cute. but really. the lab has some of the best art that the school owns on campus. and it's one of the rooms in the spori that has a code lock on the door so you can be in there any day of the week. and it has all the best natural light.
being a t.a. was so fun. i was it two semesters ago for this class. it was nice being able to go and just sit in on the class and not need to worry about tests or anything but just listen and learn and then grade papers.

okay... so funny story.. one time our boss left and told me to get together a few paintings for this figure drawing class that was going to come down to the gallery back room to look at a few of the ones we had in storage. i looked them up on the inventory and got one of them confused.. so chels and i went up and got this painting out of the MC dining room and it is sooo heavy. and big. and of COWS!! it was a figure drawing class that was coming down to look at them. so the whole way up to the MC i kept telling chels why do they want this piece? that's so random that they want cows..? and then the whole way back we kept thinking that.. and that cart we were carrying them on was so loud on the concrete cause one of the wheels was messed up.. and we were coming back right at class change so a million and twelve people are walking right where we needed to be. and then we get back and i double check and there is another painting in storage by the same artist! so i had the wrong painting and the one we needed was in storage. i about died!! i was kinda glad our boss was out of town though, so embarrassing. hahahah. my coworkers and i were all dying though. like who does that?!

art night was also a highlight. it was every thursday at carla's house. carla was the printmaking teacher. i hope i'm like her when i grow up. her outfits are always perfect. and she has the cutest shoes. and she has the cutest voice. and she is so kinda and hilarious. basically i just adore her. and her house is so cute. anyway art night is just where a group of us would go to her house. have a tea party. carla was always cooking some treat up for us too. and then we'd make art. it was so fun.

general conference weekend. brooke and i took a mattress out of a room and make the living room a big bed while we watched it.
my dad said that he just wants to play catch and not get hit.. and then one of my siblings was like, then why are you playing with morgan? ha. rude. but also true. sports are tricky!!

freaking out about school! growing up is hard. and also i was working on applications for grad school this night. i was a mess. and if it weren't for megan i probably would have died. thank goodness for good friends to help you through the dramatic nights.
we coped by going to sodavine. if you are ever there get the nailed it. it's life changing.
and more of the morgan adventures in the kitchen. megan and i made birthday cinnamon roll waffles! they were so good.
also. i don't know why, but almost every night this happened. all my roomies just one by one ended up plopping themselves in my room somewhere while i did homework. it was so fun though. late night talks with them were hilarious.

these corn dogs are soooo good. i cut my ruler in book arts that morning. and had a test in french my next class.. i was a mess. so the natural best thing to do would be to get a corn dog instead! it worked. much less stressed and then i passed my french test!
and this is kaitlin! she's the best. i met her in book arts this semester. but we both decided it felt like we knew each other forever because we became such great friends and so fast!

alyssa's brother-in-law was getting married in rexburg. so while they were inside the temple getting married i watched the nieces. abby was adorable and hilarious. we watched a disney movie and ate snacks. but evie hateddddd being there. she cried the whole time. i felt so bad for her. she probably was thinking why am i here in some random house ? but abby had fun. and as soon as alyssa and dustin came back evie stopped crying again. luis came over too to help watch and see the girls with me. and the roomies hung with them too. evie would calm down a little bit better when lauren would hold her. thank goodness for child development major roomies.
we attempted to be nice and social and go to the ward social.. but we ended up at a table by ourselves. and ate and then left.. whoops. but the three of us had so much fun together!
and home for thanksgiving! and the parents love black friday.

basically school just kept getting better and better. and i just kept finding the best people to be friends with. and rexburg was totally growing on me. never thought i'd say that. but it wasn't so bad once i had friends and a place i fit in. i miss college. and staying out late doing nothing and then cramming in some late night homework parities. and sodavine, taco bus, taylor dance parties, and cheap target decorations. and all the roomies.
megan and lauren should be sainted for being my roommates during my last year of college. i was so stressed 99% of the time. they always knew what to say/do to calm me down too. or they joined in the stress and we'd all be dramatic.
